Off Campus Passes

If your student has a doctor appointment or personal appointment that makes it necessary for him to leave school, please send a note to the Attendance Office before school. Or, you may call before school starts, (24 to 48 hours ahead is preferable).  Your student can then pick up the pass in Attendance before school starts.  We need your student's name, your name and relationship, reason, time of dismissal, returning or not, and a contact phone number.

  • This enables the school to account for the student’s whereabouts.
  • When a student has obtained a pass, the Attendance Office will clear the periods he is gone.
  • Your student will be waiting in the Front Office for you to pick up, saving you time.  You will need to show a government issued photo ID to the Front Desk.
  • Remember, if someone other than a parent is picking up a student, they must be on the student's emergency card on file at the school and must be at least 18 years old.

To report an all day absence:

Phone the absence into our 24 hour attendance line at:               760-331-5370.

  • Please leave the student's name, your name and relationship, reason, date, and a contact phone number.
  • For an illness, please call every day.
  • For personal business, such as travel, or family business, one call is sufficient with the reason and dates student will be missing.
  • If a student must leave from school due to illness, he can leave directly through the Health Office. The Health Tech will contact you for permission for them to be picked up and will give the student a pass.

For Late Arrival

If your student is late to school, please have them check in at the attendance office to obtain a pass to class. The third unexcused tardy, 30 minutes or more, is considered a truancy and will be handled according to state truancy laws.

Excessive tardies will result in disciplinary action.

1-2    Tardies = Warning

3-4    Tardies = Progressive Detentions

5       Tardies = Friday School

6+     Tardies = Referral, possible SART or SARB process & Friday School

Homework

School Loop is available to find out what homework was assigned during your student’s absence.  You will need to register if you have not already done so. You need your student’s five-digit permanent ID number which is available on the ID card. We encourage your student have a “Homework Buddy” in each of their classes.  They can then call to find out what was missed in class that day.

Please be advised that it is school policy that work does not have to be provided prior to an absence.  Families should access School Loop while away to see what work is being missed.
