Early Dismissal

Thursday's are early dismissal.   We will be following the Collaboration bell schedule.  Students will be dismissed at 1:20 pm every Thursday throughout the school year.

Back to School Night - September 7 at 6:00 pm

Everything you want to know about your child's school experience will be provided at Back to School Night.  Please go directly to your child’s period 1 classroom at 6:00 pm.  You will be following your student's schedule throughout the evening.  The night will end at 7:33 pm.   This informational event is intended for parents only, no children please.

Picture Make-Up Day

We have two scheduled picture make-up days.  The first day is Tuesday, September 19 and the second is Tuesday, October 10.

Valley Spiritwear

Every Friday is Spirit Day.  We encourage our students to wear our colors.  Spiritwear is sold in the Student Store on Monday - Wednesday - Friday during lunch.

University Tuesdays

We encourage our students to wear their favorite university or college t-shirts every Tuesday.

Friendly reminders

  • Volunteer applications will be available on the Valley website next week.
  • We will be continuing our no drop off policy in order to not disrupt classes.  This means we cannot accept binders, backpacks, Chromebooks, homework, projects and PE clothes at the front office.  Lunches can be picked up at the front office during the student's lunch period if arranged before school starts. We will deliver glasses to the student's class.  House keys and cell phones will be given to students at the end of the school day.
  • Students who arrive to school after 7:48 must stop in the attendance office to get a pass to class.
  • Students leaving early need to bring a note to the attendance office to receive an off campus pass.  They will then be waiting for you in the front office.  You will need to show a government picture ID to pick up your student.
  • If your child is absent, be sure to call our Attendance Line at 760-331-5370 to report the absence.  This line is available 24 hours a day.
  • The staff will send notes to the students at the end of the school day for emergencies such as different pick up locations, going home with another parent, etc.

Students 12 to 25 are invited to get a free heart screening on Sunday, February 26 at Sage Creek High School between 9 am and 3 pm.

The screening is offered by the Eric Paredes Save A Life Foundation, which has screened more than 21,000 teens for heart abnormalities that put about 1 in 100 students at risk for Sudden Cardiac Arrest - a leading cause of death under 25, and the #1 killer of student athletes. Heart screenings are not a part of annual checkups or pre-participation sports physicals, even though most heart conditions have no warning signs or unrecognized symptoms -- which is why Eric's Foundation screens for free.

Parents simply register at epsavealife.org/register/ to download a screening packet that you complete and bring to the event. Walk-ins are also accepted and paperwork is available onsite if online registration is not possible. Screenings take less than an hour. Parents need not be present for youth who have a signed and completed screening packet.

Students wear t-shirt, sweat pants or sports shorts to the screening. Girls wear a sports bra. Please bring a self-addressed stamped enveloped in which a copy of your child's EKG will be mailed back to you to add to their medical records.

We urge you to take advantage of this opportunity to screen your teen.

Dear Parent or Guardian,

On February 13th, 15th OR 16th, your child is being asked to be a part of our school’s Healthy Kids Survey sponsored by the California Department of Education.  This is a very important survey that will help promote better health among our youth and combat problems such as drug abuse and violence.  This survey is voluntary and anonymous.  The school’s counseling services will be available to answer any personal questions that may materialize.

Please read the attached forms for information about the survey, and for instructions on how to withdraw your child.  If you do not want your child to complete the survey, you must notify us.  In this case, please send this paperwork to Melony Schroh’s attention by February 3rd.

This survey is one tool to help us move forward to develop programs based on our needs in our schools.  If you have any questions about this survey, or about your rights, call the district at (760) 331-5021 Rosemary Eshelman, Student Services Specialist.  Thank you for your continued support.
