REGISTRATION INFORMATION FOR THE 2018 - 2019 SCHOOL YEAR

 

Please attend the registration day only for your grade based on the 1st letter of your last name.  We will only register students each day for the specified grade as class schedules and textbooks will be distributed. On registration day, pictures will be taken for the yearbook so dress accordingly and make sure to follow Valley Middle School’s Minimum Safety Attire and Grooming Policy (Located on our homepage). Picture proofs will be available a few weeks later to place orders.

2018 – 2019 Registration Checklist

Complete, print, and bring the following information

with you on your assigned registration date and time

 

If you are NEW to the Carlsbad Unified School District follow the steps below:

  • From the CUSD website, go to Online Enrollment & Registration
    • Complete Step 1 and Step 2
  • Call Susan Wong at 760-331-5368 to schedule an appointment to bring in your enrollment paperwork. 

If you are CONTINUING with the Carlsbad Unified School District follow the steps below:

  • Log in to Parent Portal. Please click here Parent Portal instructions.
  • Bring the following to the school office at your designated time slot:
    • Registration Confirmation page
    • Residency Verification Form
    • Proof of Residency
      • Two of the following
        • SDGE Bill – July Entire Bill / Original & Copy
        • Water Bill – July Entire Bill / Original & Copy
        • Escrow Papers
        • Current Rental Agreement
    • Emergency Information Card
    • Google Apps for Education User Agreement
    • Proof of Tdap - 7th grade only

WEB

(Where Everyone Belongs)

 

WEB Is a great opportunity for all 6th graders. Students will meet on Tuesday, August 28, from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm in our MU (Multi-Purpose Room).

 

There will be a BBQ for the incoming students with the Valley Staff from Noon - 12:30 PM in the 6th Grade lunch area.

Enrollment for all NEW INCOMING STUDENTS not attending a CUSD school last year is available ONLINE at  http://www.carlsbadusd.k12.ca.us/online-enrl

 

Please follow the procedures noted below to begin:

  1. Go to Carlsbad Unified School District website: http://www.carlsbadusd.k12.ca.us/online-enrl
  2. Complete Step #1 (CUSD Enrollment Process) and Step #2 (Required Documents).  
  3. Call the school office at 760-331-5300 to schedule an appointment to bring in your enrollment papers. 

 

 

Important Notice for all 7th Graders

DEAR PARENTS

YOUR CHILD WILL NOT BE ABLE TO START 7TH GRADE WITHOUT PROOF OF THE TDAP IMMUNIZATION.

In accordance with state law EVERY student entering 7th grade must provide proof of a Tdap immunization.  Verification of this required immunization must be received prior to your student registering for 7th grade in late August.  You may submit this verification at anytime prior to registration.  If your child has already received the immunization, please provide proof to the health office. Please call the Health office at 760-331-5390 if you have questions or need to confirm if you previously submitted proof of the immunization.

FAQ's

Q:  What is Registration?

 

Registration is the term used to describe all activities leading up to and associated with the start of school.  Parents will visit The Aeries Parent Portal to begin the Registration process.  At VMS, in-person Registration is held over a 3 day period in August (prior to the first day of school) when all completed and signed forms are turned in, school ID photos are taken, student class schedules are distributed, textbooks are issues, and other student and parent activities take place which are necessary to ensure a smooth start to the school year.  All students, including newly enrolled students, students on Intra-Districts transfers, and all returning students, are expected to participate in Registration activities.

 

Q:  Should I complete all forms before coming to Registration?

 

Absolutely.  The line moves very quickly and students should have all forms filled out and signed, and all checks completed, signed, and ready to hand in before they get in line.  Students will need to present proof of completed online Aeries registration (emergency card) in addition to any other documents.

 

Q:  Can I come earlier or later than my designated Registration time?

 

No, you must come at your designated day and time.  There is a make-up registration on Thursday, August 24 from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm.  

 

Q:  Is the picture during Registration just for the Student ID card?

 

No, students will also be getting their yearbook photo taken.  Discounts are available from the photographer if you pre-order your order prior to registration.
